CM. "Butch" Welch, a native Idahoan, is a Conservation Officer with the Idaho Department of Fish & Game. A twenty year veteran,of the IDF&G, he has served at various duty stations around the beautiful state of Idaho. The Shikar Safari Club International recognized Welch as the "Wildlife Officer of the Year" in 1994, for meritorious service in the field of wildlife conservation and law enforcement. His stories come from his years in the back country, both in the line of duty as well as in the "line of fun". Butch and his wife Penny enjoy living near Grangeville, Idaho. |

Butch has catered "on the side" for many of Idaho's finest, as well as nationally known folks. Ms river and hunting trips are legendary and when he is "camp cook" you can be sure that no one will go away hungry. |

Butch has compiled a Dutch Oven & Camp Cooking cookbook as a companion to this public television series and hope to be back next year with more mouth-watering recipes and spicy tall-tales. |
